Nexon Points (NX) Dangers:
There is an ongoing hacking on the NX system where people are getting hacked and banned for "Duping NX". As the danger online is slowly escalating, there exists a notable chance that Mabinogi may suffer a rollback later as a result of these events.
We are not sure how long it will take until the rollback happens nor how much time the rollback may undo if it occurs, but please prepare for the worst. We advise everyone to not go on mabi and to not buy any NX until the rollback is confirmed and everything is safe. UPDATE: It is now safe to be on Mabinogi, although one should be very cautious as to what one does and how one goes about things. I'll outline what precautions to take here.Guidelines for Behavior to Stay Safe: 1. Do not attempt to sell or trade items with other players. These items may have been duplicated (known as "duped") or spawned through hacks. Contact with such items can cause your account to get banned.
2. Similarly, do not pick up any items on the ground if you cannot confirm that they came directly from a monster. We advise merely picking up items from things you personally kill.
3. Feel free to get items from monster drops, commerce, npcs, missions, dungeons, events and so on. Simply do not acquire them from other players, whether through shops, mail, trading, picking them up off of the ground, kiosks, housing or any other medium.To Identify Hacked Items:1. Check for an "original" tag located under the related statistics of an item. Additionally, be most immensely wary of any sale or trade of any rare, unusually colored or highly sought-after items, particularly if the seller seems willing to let it go for unusually low prices. Again, we do advise you do not trade with other players at this time as this method is not entirely foolproof.
UPDATE: Be wary of joining parties.
The Dangers of Large Open Parties:
Parties can be forcibly joined by hackers unless the party is password protected. If they get into your party, they can case a great deal of trouble. Set party size limits on recruiting that fits your missions - avoid letting too many people into parties.[color=#00008b] Update: BEWARE there are now hackers in mabinogi trading dungeon keys DO NOT TAKE THIS item will most certainly get you hacked, so please beware, only pick up dungeon keys in dungeons!!!
